This is going to be a running post where I would keep on adding pointers that I discover during my journey of balancing sports with my job. So, let’s drive into it:
Get comfortable in carrying sports shoes or wearing them to office when you’re on a business travel. This will ensure that you don’t miss out on shoes which are probably the most essential to start your workout.
If given an option, choose a hotel that has any kind of sports field/stadium nearby within 2km range. For me, its Tau Devi Lal stadium in Gurgaon and Noida stadium in NOIDA whenever I’m travelling to these locations. I’m still identifying places for my other travels.
If given an option, choose a hotel with a gym facility (well, not many are privileged for this though, me too).
Freeze up the morning slot of at least 1hr for workouts be it related to technique development, endurance or weight training. Never change this schedule ever!!
If a stadium/gym is not available, make a generic workout schedule like 50 pushups, 50 burpees, 50 crunches & 50 back dips along with 500 high knees which is a balance between strength and cardio for me. These workout I can do anywhere within 40-50 min.
Prefer working out on weekends and talking Modays as off. Trust me, it helps from both professional and personal angles.
